Testimonials
“ Mike Grant was awesome ”
“ My family and I broke down outside of Rapid City while on a road trip. We walked in and said we needed to make a deal right away. Dan was a huge help and worked with us to get in to a new vehicle and back on the road. Everyone was very kind and understanding and let our 3 little kids run around while we worked the deal. They were a huge help in a sticky situation. ”
“ Best experience told them what I wanted and they made it happen. 10/10 recommend ”
“ Best denny menholt chevy decent honda like why toyota great ”
“ Jason was an awesome salesman as always. Very happy with our purchase. ”
“ Dean was extremely helpful with our car buying process and wanted to get us the best possible outcome. We also appreciated that he stayed late to help us get into our new car. Thank you Dean and Denny Menholt Toyota! ”
“ Bought last two vehicles from Denny Menholt Toyota in Rapid City. They have been honest, responsive, and helpful with us getting the cars we wanted. We have dealt with Dan and Mike. Our experience has been no pressure on the sale, and they worked with us to get the vehicle, color, and options we wanted. Straight forward buying process and they have stood behind their vehicles after the sale. I will continue to buy from them, and have been highly satisfied with my experiences. ”
“ Service has always been easy and fast. Online service scheduling makes it even easier. Will continue to go here. ”
“ Kris was unbelievable. Did everything in his power to make a deal work with no pressure. We will be back! ”
“ I've had such an amazing experience with everyone I've talked to through this dealership and found such an amazing car thanks to them. Huge thanks especially to Kris Belfrey! ”
“ Garrett Wordeman was directed by Mike Grant to help us with our purchase of a new RAV4. Garrett helped us to navigate through the sale and operation of the vehicle. He answered all our questions in a very precise and calm manner. It had been 13 years since we purchased a new car, so all the new technology would have been a challenge without Garrett’s help. ”
“ Mike Grant is the guy to go to! You simply call him, tell him what you are looking for and he won't stop until you are driving away in exactly what you want. He has been my go to sales guy and will continue to be for future purchases! ”
“ Bryan Carrier went above and beyond to ensure my experience, from beginning to end, was a positive one. Thanks again Bryan! ”
“ Had a great service appointment with John Scales and CJ (Tech with very long last name). Both were professional, to the point, and offered me a solution to a mechanical problem that not only saved me about 80% of the original quote, but was practical and did not result in unnecessary work being done. Very impressed with the honest approach and still getting the desired result of my vehicle back on the road in great condition. Look forward to giving them more business in the future. ”
“ Garrett was a phenomenal salesman and we thoroughly enjoyed purchasing our Tacoma from him! He is personable, accurate with details, and made our experience at Deny Menholt one that we would 100% recommend! ”
I was very happy with the no pressure bottom line price
“ I was very happy with the no pressure bottom line price made the sale very easy my salesman Trever Neal was so very helpful answered all my questions will definitely go back to Denny Menholt Toyota again in and out sale no all day nerve wracking number game sale great staff ”
“ Denny Menholt Toyota’s service department is fantastic. Their shop rate is surprisingly competitive but more importantly, they have genuinely competent technicians who do a great job every time we take in our old Toyota tractors for service/repairs. Their service writer, Michelle, is brilliant. No BS, she speaks matter of factly and her knowledge is amazing. You can absolutely trust her and her technicians to make the right call on whatever job needs to be done. That is why we continue to have our 2001 TRD Tacoma with 400k and our 2009 Lexus GX (V8 4Runner in drag) with 300k on it serviced at this dealership. Tire and lube places we’ve tried have somehow immediately gotten themselves in over their heads with the simplest repairs and then charged a fortune for shoddy work done by the hour. There is nothing more expensive than cheap labor, so save yourself the money and brain damage and just take your Toyota/Lexus to Michelle at Denny Menholt. ”
“ Trever went out of his way to determine my needs and quickly identified the vehicles for test driving. He took his time with each of the vehicles that fit my criteria. We went to lunch and upon returning, he correctly identified the vehicle we came back to purchase and already had it washed. We were impressed! ”
“ Garrett was very easy to work woth, kept me informed through every step of the process, and I am very happy with my experience Denny Menholt Toyota! ”
“ Phil Cyber son was exceptional in guiding us through our recent vehicle purchase. Very knowledgeable and helpful explaining the vehicle featured. ”
“ I had the chance to work with CJ in the service department, and he was awesome and very reassuring every step of the way through my troubles. I’d be happy to speak with him again in the future and will definitely let others know he’s a great person to talk to ”
“ Best car buying experience I have ever had. Dan was super knowledgeable and accommodating. Would definitely recommend! ”
“ Nick and Kris were great in helping me find my new ride! Got a great price and a good deal for my trade in. Thank you boys! ”
“ Excellent service and professionalism ”
“ I was on a long road trip from Washington State to Norfolk Va, I had an alternator go out, and already had stays and plans booked. This place was able to get me in and out within an hour and a half. Their compassion, and effort was able to keep this from being a nightmare journey. If I am ever back in South Dakota, this is the only place I’d go to get service. Professional, compassionate and fast. 5/5 stars. ”
“ My team and I painted this place and bought our VW here. ”
“ They definitely were not willing to deal much, but when I discovered a problem with the vehicle before I even purchased it, they fixed it. The salesman was ok. I do wish their service dept people werent so darn rude and sexist. Ive been there 3 times and they were incredibly rude each time, the last time making a very sexist comment and upset both me and my daughter. ”
“ Exactly what I hoped it wouldn't be. I took a car, with a rebuilt/salvage title from 2016, in to see if they'd be interested in buying it. The 2nd star comes from the gentleman being courteous with the offer of drinks and letting me use his charger... otherwise it'd be a 1 star, negative 3 if allowed, experience. Before I do any dealings with cars, equipment, bikes, etc I always take the time to find out as much as I can before going in about whatever it is im looking fir or selling. I already had fairly decent idea of the local market value, the up to 40% off that for the rebuilt title a dealership may offer, and private party vs. Trade in values vs. Selling to a dealership. Plus, I had several offers from out of state places already that we'd done a video walk through on, which barring any accident or natural disasters, were locked in. Just negotiating shipping. He came back, after "checking with the bosses", hemming and having how the title made it impossible for them to buy. But nit just them. Nationally there were standards to be met and no one in the area would buy a salvage title. He couldn't think of a single place really. Which, if it was true, then salvage titles wouldnt be a thing. Needless to say, after the dog and pony show, I nearly walked. But curiosity kept me around long enough to ask about 2 other vehicles. One with high mileage, one that just sacrificed its bumper to.bambi. After ridiculously lowballed maybes (over $700 below Kelly's blue book on one, and $900 below Edmunds on the other for trade in value) I left. The next 3 dealerships, Gateway, McKee, Cars'R"Us were way more helpful and I ended up selling the "unsaleable" for $1200. All of them were pleasant, helpful, and made offers. Moral of the review: shop around for buying AND selling...and dont listen to doomsday naysayers. ”
“ absolute trash of a dealership had a window sign that said $10,000 off and 0% financing. I confirmed the deal several times before having them run my credit. with All-Star credit was approved right before the deal was done. they told me it was a mistake and was 0% or $10,000 not both. they knew I didn't want to run my credit until everything was confirmed. about a year later I asked the sales guy if he can sell me a car from their other dealership across the street to see if you can give me a good deal kinds told him what I was looking at and what to spend. he replied with the sales manager is not going to give you a good deal just because you got screwed on your last one. All star customer service there. luckily I found the same vehicle in a neighboring state with the deal I wanted. and just purchased another Toyota never even stepped foot in Denny Menholt. also there service department isnt much better. ”
“ It took them 91 days to give me my paperwork to register/title my 2025 certified used Tundra. Preston gave me a loaner after 45 days, but it still wasn't pleasant making payments and paying for insurance on a pickup that was stuck in my garage for 46 days after they were legally required to have said paperwork delivered to me. Then, 3 weeks later, the battery in my pickup died while sitting in my garage. I drive it every weekend, but for some reason, Preston decided to accuse me of leaving a door or a light on, which caused the battery to drain - I did not. I told him that for the last 15 years, vehicles from every manufacturer have included software which prevents battery drain from a door left ajar/light left on, but regardless, it was still my fault according to him. He then told me that he would send someone over Monday morning with a jump pack to start my pickup, and that they'd bring it to the dealer to resolve the issue. Well, come Monday morning, I called and left a message for Preston, and in return, my salesman sent me A PICTURE OF TOYOTA'S ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE'S PHONE NUMBER. So I called my salesman, and he said I'd have to call that number to get my vehicle fixed. So, Preston accused me of killing the battery in my pickup, and then he lied to me by telling me someone from the dealership would come get it, and then he had my salesman contact me instead of calling me himself. And to top it all off, the service department found that the battery in my 2025 Tundra was defective, so they replaced it under warranty.... Preston, I hope you enjoy the complaint I filed with corporate... Because this whole process of buying/servicing my pickup has been a complete joke thanks to you. I hope the dealership see's this review, and they're more than welcome to contact me. ”
“ I’m writing to share my disappointment with my recent appointment experience at Denny Menholt Toyota. I dropped my 2024 grand highlander off the night before for a scheduled recall appointment at 7:30 AM the next day. Expecting the service to be completed within the agreed timeframe. When I returned at 11:30 AM to pick up my vehicle, I was informed that it had not yet been completed and that it would be at least another hour because of two vehicles were ahead of mine. Additionally, I have got the answering machine in the service department more than once to schedule an Oil service, adding to my frustration, they never returned my call. This is frustrating and infuriating, I arranged my work schedule around the appointment and reasonably expected the scheduled time to be honored. While I understand delays can sometimes occur, better communication and scheduling accuracy would have prevented this inconvenience. I hope this feedback is taken constructively and helps improve the experience for future customers. I value professionalism and reliability, and I would appreciate greater attention to appointment commitments going forward. ”
“ Was truly looking at buying or leasing a new Tacoma but after the sales manager said if he had it his way he wouldn't honor Toyota specific rebates and deals, yeah I love Toyota but not this dealership there high prices on almost all the vehicles way above market especially used vehicles. Drive to SFalls or Colorado you'll save alot of hassle and money. ”
“ Just had my Subaru serviced there and it was a joke! Took my car there for a dry lug nut few months ago never drove right after I got it back from them come to find out I needed 3,00$ more worth of work! They released the vehicle to me like that the tire would shake so bad on interstate! Then when my husband shows up for my scheduled apt they go why is t this a Subaru talk about RUDE because we have always gotten ours cars serviced at Toyota and Toyota sold me the Subaru but after this last time I will not use there service department ever again!!!!!! ”
“ Get glossy mailings every month addressed to me and another addressed to my deceased father. Have been trying to get off the mailing list for 2 years. Dealer says I have to call corporate. Corporate says the dealers are in charge of mailings. Tried to call Denny but he's not around, even though his name is on my truck. Hey man, I'm already advertising for you, why can't you take me off the mailing list? How come none of your employees know how to do this? ”
“ Aside from Kris worst dealership experience ever. Hardly any new cars to look at, and the tall white sales guy was a jerk to Kris, and my family who was working with him. ”
“ Melissa was fantastic. Other than that Toyota in Rapid City has been absolute garbage. Toyota replaced my cv axles on my 2006 Tacoma at 170k miles. Not long afterwards I began to experienced unusual road noise. I brought the truck back in at 199k miles for a “multi-point inspection” and was told my cv axles would need to be replaced again. Obviously struck by the fact I would need to replace a part that the was so recently repaired by the same “OEM” repair station, I began to ask questions. I learned that Rapid City Toyota replaced my cv axles with aftermarket parts and incorrect boots for the aftermarket cv axles. Their remedy to the situation was to replace my cv axles with actual OEM parts and charge me $800. I wised up and took the vehicle elsewhere for proper repairs at reasonable cost. Upon doing so I learned that I have been driving around with a completely SHOT front wheel bearing (explaining the road noise). Wouldn’t you think test driving the vehicle would be a part of the checks? So much for a Multi-Point Inspection. Won’t bring my truck back again. ”
“ Dropped tundra off for service. Went back to pick up and truck was unlocked and someone had gone thru truck and stole things out of my console. Service guy in dealership really didn't care. To me it's a real invasion of my privacy. ”

“ The salesman was very courteous and so was the gentleman in the finance department. ”
